Lindisfarne Methodist Church - Alnwick

Up until the middle of 2025 Alnwick was enjoying its move from the old Methodist church in Chapel Lane.  Unfortunately, we did not have enough stewards to manage the day-to-day functions and so we reluctantly closed with people choosing to worship at the United Reform Church.

That said, the work in Alnwick is continuing as we run mindfulness courses and wellbeing sessions for people who are overwhelmed and stressed with life.  Please contact Tim Moore for details.

Sunday 22nd Feb 2026, service at Alnwick URC at 10:30am

In 1748 John & Charles Wesley visited Alnwick during their countrywide travels, meeting with the small Methodist Society established by a local man. The previous site of Methodism in Alnwick was at Chapel Lane and was the focal point of Methodism in the area.

The congregation moved into the Salvation Army building on Hotspur Street but due to a lack of resources they ceased Sunday morning worship in Alnwick in October 2025.  We have other missional initiatives underway in the town.

There is an 'Open Door' coffee morning every Thursday now at the Playhouse..
